Position: Accounting Clerk

Department: Based out of DSCS Administrative Office

Reports to: Director of Finance

POSITION SUMMARY

DSCS is looking for a talented, self-motivated individuals to join our team. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for day-to-day transaction processing under the direction of outsourced accounting firm, such as cash receipts and deposits, processing invoices, and processing payroll. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Receiving invoices, submit for approval, follow-up and receive approvals
  • Enter invoices in the accounting software and issue checks Scan and file vendor invoices
  • Collect information and record credit card charges in the accounting software
  • Code cash receipts, deposit and enter in the accounting software
  • Scan and file cash receipt support Follow-up on collection of accounts receivable
  • Ensure that all time sheets are completed by employees and approved by supervisors, follow-up to ensure timely completion of time records.
  • Process payroll based on information from Human Resources Department Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications One year of experience in a similar position Successful completion of basic accounting courses in a community college 10-key by touch Typing 40 words per minute

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands of this position are light with the expectation that the staff person can exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work. The position requires frequent computer use at a workstation.
