Join us for a rewarding career in the aviation industry!**Job Description**As our Baggage Handler, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the timely, efficient, and safe handling of passenger luggage from check-in to aircraft loading and vice versa. You will be involved in loading and unloading baggage from conveyor belts and aircraft, ensuring that luggage is handled with care and sorted accurately according to flight destinations. This role requires strict adherence to safety and security guidelines to prevent damage or loss of baggage and to maintain a secure airport environment. Additionally, you will be working in a team-oriented environment, often in varying weather conditions, and must be capable of lifting heavy items and operating ground support equipment as needed.**WHAT IT S LIKE TO WORK AS A BAGGAGE HANDLER**You like working as a team, toward a common goalLoad and unload passenger luggage and cargo onto and off aircraftOperate baggage handling equipment such as conveyor belts and trolleysSort and route baggage to the correct flight and carouselEnsure timely delivery of baggage to and from aircraftInspect baggage for damage or security risks and report any issuesAssist in the reconciliation of passenger luggage with flight manifestsYou have very strong customer service skillsYou have a great attention to detailLike to build long term relationships with your customersPhysical activity may include:Stand and walk for extended periods of timeAbility to lift 70 pounds or moreBe able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environmentClose vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)**Qualifications**Minimum age of 18 years old1 year of working experienceKnowledge of the Aviation IndustryComfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tabletsAbility to pass a drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
