BASIC PURPOSE

Janitor position to wash/clean, mop, vacuum, wipe down and dust as explained by Corps Officers to keep corps building, building surrounding, parking lot and parking lot surroundings clean.Must have basic English communication ability. Basic Computer skills, word, excel, outlook, etc. etc.

The Custodial / Repair position will perform basic repair functions in our shelter rooms, clean rooms as needed, wash change linen as required, perform light repair work in and around the Garden St shelter facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cleaning of rooms when clients move out
• Make necessary repairs in rooms if possible
• Wash, change and replace old linen as needed
• Shampoo Carpetswhen room becomes vacant

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

1. High School Diploma
2. Ability to speak Basic English.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Excellent organizational skills.
5. Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks
6. Inventory of rooms to include; mattress covers & conditions, pillows, sheets, update facility manager as needed for replacements and needed repairs.
7. Perform assigned task as determined by supervisor.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

1. Must be 21 years or older.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
2. Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
3. Ability to reach overhead
4. Ability to operate telephone
5. Ability to lift - up to 50 lbs.
6. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
7. Ability to operate or learn basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer and office equipment etc.
